Coffee Addiction

Well it is official, I am addicted to coffee. I have very few vices, and coffee is now one of them. I am probably destroying my stomach as we speak, but I can’t let the stuff go. I know I am an addict, because I just gave Starbucks a down payment on a coffee keg. Okay, I am not that far gone, but I may be there soon. I am starting to habitually drink coffee. When I am not feeling tired or I don’t need it to go on, I tell myself, “Gee, coffee sounds good right now.” This is the second post I have made in two days, so something is definitely wrong. Damn you caffeine! I was addicted to you once and I vowed never to do it again, especially with something as destructive as coffee. Can’t I just hook a slow caffeine drip to my arm, okay maybe a fast caffeine drip, and run around the building all day. Has any one looked into Starbucks maybe adding crack to their coffee, because man this stuff is good? It’s bad when 16 ounces just never seems to be enough. I need more, more damn you!!! Can’t I just take the whole pot? I promise I will return it when I am finished. Sigh, someone please knock me out of this coffee craze. I need an intervention. Is it possible to ask for your own intervention? I think I am going to go chew on some coffee beans or something.

Spring Is Almost Here

Well the last dying gasps of winter are being felt and spring is just around the corner. The triumphant armies of warmth and happiness are slaughtering the feeble remnants of winter’s armies. Soon the banner of spring will be unfurled and we will walk in the spring blossoms and feel the comforting embrace of the suns rays again. Did I mention that I love spring and loath winter. I just wanted to point this out in case you may have missed something.

One more week of work and I am off to see my sister in Arizona. Yep, my first road trip of the year and just what I need to break myself out of this winter funk I have been in. I will be seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time, not counting from the window of an airplane. I am so excited that I do not want to work right now. The days before a long vacation are so hard. I am dusting off my camera equipment and will have plenty of pictures to post. We are also making plans to visit my wife’s aunt, uncle and cousin (AKA: My Evil Twin). I have never been to visit them, so this will be an experience I look forward to. My Evil Twin is known to play a mean guitar and I can’t wait to bask in his incredible awesomeness.

Well that is that and work is work, so I better do what I got to do to pay the bills. Until next time hippies, I bid thee farewell.

They Might Be Giants (TMBG) Are Coming To Town!!!

Yep, I just saw today that TMBG.com (click here) shows that my favorite band will be making an appearance in Utah (7/8 Springville, UT). That is not exactly in the neighborhood, but I am more than willing to drive to see them. This is a lot closer than having to drive to another state. I looked on Ticketmaster and they are not yet showing tickets available, but I am sure they will be closer to the 7/8 date. I will keep you posted.

They Might Be Giants (TMBG) On The Radar

It is not very often that two of my favorite things meet, but when they meet it's a happy land. They Might Be Giants just paired up with The Simpsons. They played a few minutes of Istanbul at the end of last Sunday's (3/19/05) episode (Thank you to This Might Be A Wiki). I of course missed it, because I am not watching The Simpsons like a good boy should.

My favorite band is making a lot of waves recently. Check out the above mentioned site for all of the latest and greatest news. Also, check out TMBG's Free MP3 download site. They are putting out a lot of great goodies.

Later hippies.

Fishing Season Has Begun

It's official, the fishing season has begun. Yep, my license has been purchased and on Saturday I christened the new fishing year by catching my first fish. The fish was caught using my favorite lure, The Mill Hollow Special, combined with the Powerbait technique. He wasn't a huge fish, but he was a fish. Not just a fish, but the first fish of the year. It was awesome to finally be back outdoors and fishing again. I have created another post, Fishing Tracker, so you can stay up on my fishing adventures. Hope you enjoy it.

In other news, I went to Wendover this weekend. This was one of my best trips to date. 'Lipe and I took off at about 6:30 or so on Friday night. We both started out with Texas Holdem. I got my usual crappy play and lost about $35, total to date $70. 'Lipe finished up about $100 or so, if I remember correctly. He got awesome hands and even one with the job interview tweezers, suited two - three. After Poker we ventured out and played some Pai Gow. We both did pretty good at Pai Gow and I think I got back to about $20. I started with $50 for the night. We then went to convince our other friend; we will call him Bob, to come hang out with us at the bar. NO, I still do not drink, but 'Lipe was quick to indulge. This is where the night took a turn for the worst. We played the most evil slot machine game ever, Leopard Spots. This game makes me cringe just thinking about it. I hate this game, but it is so addictive. Fun little animal pictures bonus spins and our constant chanting of "Spots, Spots". Please if you see me play Leopard Spots again, slap me. We lost about $80 on this game over all. Mostly I helped 'Lipe lose his money, but we still lost a lot. Finally we pulled ourselves away from the bar, one of us was very, very drunk. Me and drunky Dan then headed back to the Pai Gow table. He could barely do anything beyond hold his cards, but he did not need to function, because I was their to back him up. Lady luck really made her appearance here. The very first Pai Gow hand 'Lipe got was a straight flush. A straight freaking flush! This is awesome because he bet five dollars on the fortune bet and this pays 50 to 1. He hit a $250 payout. It was incredible. He then played more games and ended up winning more money. He helped me get back to break even status by giving me some Pai Gow money to play with. I ended up winning $25 dollars and broke even for the night at $50. Where the real amazing luck happened was the Craps table. 'Lipe had never played craps in his life. We played the pass line for $10 a throw, and after about 20 minutes and probably 10 times of throwing the dice off the table, 'Lipe had made $100. It was great luck. After this last gambling string, we finally headed for home. We left at 6:30 am the next morning. I had been up for over 24 hours and was more than ready to get home. This was a freaking awesome time. I don't think I have had more fun in Wendover before.

Well that is all, check out my Fishing Tracker and luck be with you.

One Hundred And Fifty Dollars!!!

Yep, it was only $150. Less than what I paid for my first Play Station II. That's less than my MP3 CD player. Less than the new eyeglasses I just bought last night, very nice I must say. What was only $150 you ask? The mere margin that we missed getting the house we just bid on. $150!!! That’s all. The tiniest of amounts was all they out bid us by. This was the first house I was absolutely in love with. The first of the many houses, and we looked at a lot of houses, that I really liked. I was really sad, but then my awesome wife and great friends helped me see the light.

It just was not meant to be. You never take the first of anything you really like. Things happen for a reason. I really think we were not supposed to get this house, and I believe it. The next house we find we both will really like and it will be perfect.

I had anxieties about this house, because we were paying a little more than we originally had planned on. This is probably another reason we were not supposed to get the house. Long story short, the ongoing search for a place of residency continues. It will be a place to call our own, and live in peace and harmony. I will keep you posted hippies. Just keep your fingers crossed and send us a little extra luck.

Later

First attempt at audio blogging

Here is my first attempt at audio blogging. Again I am a sheep and I recognize this. This is no where as good as Mr. Me's first audio post, but I am only testing the waters. Tell me what you think. I know I have a horrible recorded voice, but you will have to deal with it until I can train my monkey to talk for me.
