Dear Dr. Worm,
I really enjoy your BLOG. Your content is interesting to me. Your sense of humor has always made me laugh, still does.
I would like to start my own BLOG and perhaps you could give me some basic tips and ideas... I know how busy you and your sweet wife are with work and house hunting and friends and family.
I'm going to leave a couple of additional clues as to my identity so you can figure out who I am, while still trying to retain some of my anonymity from others who might read this.
I also suffer from YKS. And SUFFER I DO.
I never really liked or drank coffee in my life until recently... and the last couple of years have been hard on me, because I too, am addicted to coffee.
I am really picky about my coffee though. -- I got hooked on coffee when this guy I was dating kept feeding me the MOST delicious, tasty, super-fresh, whole-bean Costa Rican coffees. This man was feeding me liquid paradise.
His parents would visit him from his mother's native Costa Rica, where his parents had moved back to and now live, what with his father being retired and all. Every time they came to visit, they brought with them (or rather - had shipped, actually) from Costa Rica 250 – 1,000 lbs, in 10 lb bags of the best collection of different Fresh, Never Dried, Never Frozen, Whole Bean Coffees, and this took place 4-8 times a year. He ground the beans fresh every time he made coffee and oh my holiness, HOW I got hooked -- and even worse --I got hooked on the really, REEEAAALLLLYY good stuff. I could drink it black and it was heaven, though, usually, I took mine with a teaspoon of sugar, and maybe a touch of honey and a dab of caramel-creamer. These coffees of his were so much better black than any other coffee I have ever had, even when served with more than normal amounts of really good creamer and sugar. – His coffee was the most nummie, tasty coffee I have ever tasted. So now, any coffee I drink is mediocre at best, and acid-like on average. Oh how I was spoiled!
It’s like doing drugs, metaphorically speaking --–-- when you first try drugs, you have no idea what they are supposed to be like what quality means or is like, and you probably think “cocaine is cocaine”… “Drugs are drugs”… “Coffee is Coffee’ because you have nothing to compare it to. But starting out with drinking this Costa Rican Coffee was like doing the purist, finest, highest grade, most prized, ÜBER expensive China White Cocaine as my first drug, getting used to the quality and the purity, not knowing the difference, until one night, I go to a party and am offered some more drugs, but these drugs had been cut with something, were in the bottom 50%, as it were. It is then and there that I question if it is even the same drug?! Then and there, I come to the realization that I had been given the best in the beginning, and that nothing else would ever compare.
And I think I need to buy a percolator because I only have a French Press and it only makes 3 cups at a time. Your awesome Arizona Sister turned me on to the French Press, because I didn’t have a coffee maker when she started staying with me when she came to town to visit, so she brought their French Press with her whenever they came. (Her press is much bigger than mine. Perhaps I just need a larger Press and not a Percolator?) Whaddya Think?
Ok. That Rant Is OVER! But, dude, I’m feeling ya’ on the coffee thing.
I am family. When we were kids, I went to the same elementary school with you for a year and a half. I would come over to your house almost every day before & after school. We would hang out, you and me, and we had a blast.
-- Recording ourselves, saying silly things, in silly voices, in to a tape recorder, then playing the recordings back, at ridiculously slow and fast speeds, -- that was something we used to do. -- And we would crack up the whole time.
Anyway, good luck on finding the perfect house for less than you expect to pay - may your mortgage be smaller than anticipated. Tell your wife Hello, tell your Sister in AZ hello, and send me a pic of your puppy, ''cause I’ve never seen him.
